Cristiano Ronaldo told the media that believes he 'changed the game' by scoring 31 goals from midfield in the Premier League last season to win the European Golden Boot award. Most of football fanatics didn't agree with his statement. As a United supporter I am very greatful for what he did for the club. Let's be honest all skills aside the only reason Ronaldo is hated is because 1. He is that good. 2. He has opened the world spotlight through sponserships eg. nike. 3. He aired his dirty decision about wanting to be sold or traded to Madrid. This is the same thing that happens in any sport worldwide. People can only hate someone that is more talented and better paid than the "superstar" on the team that they choose as their favorite.
Let's just stop the flaming. Ronaldo is a good player, he won a couple of awards, let's just give him his due credit. His attitude may step on a few toes, he is arrogant, yes but it is what that defines him, maybe that is where his self-confidence stems from. And maybe the players before have the same sentiments as Ronaldo too but Ronaldo was more outspoken than them. Different players or people have different personalities, so i think it's irrelevant to pick on that. Just like 'the special one' Mourinho.
By the way, Ronaldo will play for his first game of EPL 08/09 tonight against Chealsea the blues yahudi and I really hope Man U can win that match even without a superb new comer Berbatov and Vidic.
